How well do you know about the Schengen embassies in Ghana? In the coming weeks we will summarize some information from each of the 10 (ten) Schengen embassies in Ghana: Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Switzerland for short stay visa applications.

To apply for a short term visa to any of the following countries, go to these embassies:

  1. Czech Republic, Slovakia — Embassy of the Czech Republic
  2. Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Iceland — Embassy of Denmark
  3. France — Embassy of France
  4. Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Luxembourg, Austria, Lithuania — Royal Netherlands Embassy
  5. Germany, Estonia — Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany
  6. Hungary — Embassy of Hungary
  7. Italy, Malta — Italian Embassy
  8. Norway — Royal Norwegian Embassy
  9. Spain, Slovenia, Greece — Spanish Embassy
  10. Switzerland, Belgium, Latvia, Liechtenstein — Embassy of Switzerland

The Hungarian embassy was opened in April 2016 and started receiving visa applications the following year.

The representative embassies only handle short-term visa applications of up to 90 days stay. If you therefore need a work visa, permanent residency visa or study visa to Greece, you will have to submit your application directly to the Greek Embassy in Nigeria, and not to the Spanish Embassy in Ghana. That means should you require a visa to join your family in Finland permanently, you will need to go to the nearest Finnish Embassy and not to the Embassy of Denmark, and most of these embassies are in Abuja, Nigeria.
